How I Started Blogging & My Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing Review
It began a few years ago.
I had already been running a successful home business as a boutique owner for an ecommerce store. The store was doing great and I was uber-busy. In fact, I was too busy.
I was left overwhelmed, stressed out and I was neglecting myself and my family, running this little store. In its peak I was processing hundreds of orders every day and making up to $30K per month!

I was wandering around on Pinterest one day and I saw a pin and it’s funny because it was from the creator of this course, Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing, but long before the course launched.
And the pin was one of her income reports, showing she made $68,000 in one month!
I was shocked.
I was very familiar with bloggers and worked closely with them as a boutique owner but I always thought bloggers were poor. I thought there were blogging for free clothes and other freebies and didn’t really make any real money.
Boy was I wrong.
After reading that pin, I follow Michelle on Pinterest and then I went on to read as many blog posts of hers as I could. I also signed up to her email list.
I knew I wanted to blog.
I am being totally honest in saying that one of my main reasons for blogging was the money.
There were other reasons too, like I wanted flexibility, freedom, I wanted to work from home, and a lot of the other perks that self employment provided, that I was enjoying with my ecommerce store.
I launched my blog (this is the free guide I used to do it).
A few weeks after launching, Michelle launched her course, Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing.
Prior to the course, I had only earned like $10 or $20 with my blog period.
Then, I took her course and a few weeks later, I was at just under $1,000 in affiliate income.
I was so thrilled.
I learned all the principles and strategies to make money with affiliate marketing.
And so, that’s my personal story of how I started blogging and came across the course.
How Did I Launch My Blog (the inside scoop)
1. I Made A Plan
I made a plan and put it on paper.
Whatever your plan may be, it’s important to document it because it helps to hold you accountable. And you can go back and look to it whenever you need to, to make sure you are staying on track, making changes as you need to, etc.
2. I Researched My Butt Off
I wanted to know everything I needed to, about blogging, content marketing, making money online, etc.
Blogging (and even my ecomm store) was not my first venture into trying to make money online. I tried many different things (and failed) and some of them even scammed me.
I knew blogging wasn’t like that.
I was serious about taking things into my own hands and really doing this blogging thing.
My research was mostly on:
3. I Launched My Social Media
I started profiles for Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, and Google Plus.
I started posting on these networks before I launched the blog.
4. I Joined Affiliate Networks
Some networks make you have a website before you actually apply to join. Others don’t.
For those that don’t, I joined them.
5. I Joined Facebook Groups (this is my group, please join)
I joined dozens of Facebook groups.
With blogging, support is big!
If you can make a blogging friend, absolutely do it!
You get to belong to a community, help others, get help yourself, educate, inspire, motivate, and more.
These are just a few of the things I did. If you’re new to blogging, look at my 5 point list of things to do before you launch your blog.
